It taught him some important lessons: To be caring and responsible. To be a self-starter. To tackle issues head on and welcome new ideas. To get others involved and build the best team possible. And to be smart with money.

That’s pretty much everything you need to know to be a good leader.

It’s not surprising that Tom’s life path has been one of achievement: a successful business owner, a dedicated public servant, a hands-on volunteer.
